McCOMB — Helen Wingate Myers, 89, of McComb, passed away Sept. 29, 2012, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center surrounded by all of her loving children. She was born April 3, 1923, in Selma, La. She was the daughter of John Henry and Nancy Essie Dick Wingate.
She was retired from Kellwood Co., where she was a cost engineer. She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Myers was an accomplished seamstress and was responsible for numerous wedding and bridesmaid dresses for her family but, first and foremost, she was a loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin F. Myers; a son-in-law, Marvin Leonard; two brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Ronnie and Cherrie Myers of Slidell, Tom Bill and Deborah Myers of Kentwood, Bob Myers of Slidell, Maureen and Steve Ott and Martha and Steve Lambert of Vicksburg and Marilyn Leonard of Lafayette, La.; one brother and sister-in-law, Huey P. and Olyease Wingate of McComb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb from 9 a.m. until services at 11 with the Rev. Rick Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Ott, Brian Leonard, David Leonard, Mitch Lambert, Ken Lambert, Ron Ott, Russell Myers, Travis Myers and Alex Myers.
