Mary Alice Montgomery Lewis

Mary Alice Montgomery Lewis died today, Oct. 3, 2012, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 69.
Born and raised in Vicksburg, she lived most of her life in the Utica area before returning to Vicksburg six years ago. Mary Alice loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing in the sun and water, dancing and growing her flowers. She was a 1960 graduate of H.V. Cooper High School. She was a bookkeeper and a member of the Utica Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas McDougal and Mellie Warren Montgomery.
Survivors include her special friend, W.M. Pritchard of Vicksburg; her sons, Chuck Lewis (Pollyanna) and Keith Lewis (Jamie), both of Vicksburg; her brother, Nick Montgomery (Betty Ann) of Meridian; five grandchildren, Angela Haughton, Ron Crawford, Austin Lewis, Dustin Lewis and Julia Ann Lynch; and four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Crawford, Mason Bounds, John Eric Lynch and Noah Lynch.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Rocky Henriques, pastor of the Utica Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Scott Curtis, Tommy Taylor, Michael Lewis, Dwayne Lewis, Guy Barnett and Mark Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Ferris, Buford B. Evans, Jerrell Cooper, J.W. Wright, Donnie Tedford, Donald Selden and Harvey Landers.
