City man accused of uttering forgery

A Vicksburg man accused of cashing forged checks was jailed Friday.

David Clark, 51, 100 North Drive, was arrested at 9:02 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with four counts of uttering of forgery, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Clark is accused of cashing four forged checks for a total of $400 Sept. 28 at Piggly Wiggly, 4306 Halls Ferry Road, Stewart said. On Friday, Clark attempted to cash another check at the store, but the cashier refused and called police, Stewart said.

Clark was released Friday afternoon on $4,000 bond.
