Harrington, Mixon to celebrate Nov. 3

Derrick Mixon and Rashida Harrington were married at 5 p.m. Sept. 8, 2012, at Chapel of Flowers in Las Vegas. The Rev. Jerry Stephens officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Harrington of Atlanta. She is the granddaughter of the Rev. Ralph and Jessie Overton of Atlanta.

The groom is the son of Marilyn Watson of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Ruthie M. Hall of Vicksburg.

The bride’s chosen colors were ivory and chocolate.

The couple will make their home in Arlington, Texas. The bride is a 1995 graduate of Westtown School, where she was a cheerleader and member of the Varsity Council and Spanish Club. She received a degree in graphic design from Howard University, where she was a cheerleader. She is a graphic designer with VHA Inc. The groom is a 1995 graduate of Warren Central High School, where he was a member of Big Blue Band and the MCA and Spanish clubs. He attended Alcorn State University, where he was a member of the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite, Kappa Kappa Psi and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is an installation technician with Ricoh/Ikon.

The couple will be honored with a reception at 3 p.m. Nov. 3, 2012, at Unique Impressions on Mississippi 27 in Vicksburg. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
