Janie Pearl Edwards died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 76.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Hazlehurst, where she graduated from high school and lived before moving to Vicksburg eight years ago. She was a gardener and a seamstress for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Sawyer of Vicksburg and Robin Renee Pitts of Brandon; a brother, Carroll Davis of Georgetown; a sister, Diane Thedford of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 today at Bethel Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Stringer Family Funeral Services of Hazlehurst. Visitation will be at the church from 1 until the service.
