Mrs. Beth Cupstid, age 94, died Oct. 17, 2012, at Heritage House Retirement Center.
Mrs. Cupstid was born in Hazlehurst. She graduated from Hazlehurst High School and attended Mississippi College. She was a longtime employee of Odom’s Optical and retired as the office manager. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she served as an organist and pianist. She was a member of Candlelighters Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Cupstid Sr.; her brother, Dykes Granberry; and her sister, Virginia Buckley.
Survivors are her sons, James Cupstid and his wife, Brenda, of Denton, Texas, Dykes Cupstid and his wife, Minette, of Port Gibson and George Cupstid and his wife, Mary, of Longview, Texas; six grandchildren, Tobin Cupstid, Kim Weinzatl, Blake Cupstid, Brett Cupstid, Lauren Meese and Alicia Richmond; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial will be at Hazlehurst City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cupstid’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Candlelighters Sunday School class.
