Loretta Diane Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012. She was 61. Her son-in-law, Kevin Ray Blunt, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 43.

A memorial service for both will be at 2 today at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service.

Mrs. Smith was born in Star City, Ark., and had worked as a chef for 40 years in Hot Springs, Ark., and Sheridan, Ark., restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Dorman Frizzell; and her mother, Gloria Johnston Burton.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Yates of Vicksburg; one daughter, Jennifer Smith Blunt of Vicksburg; one son, William Dean Smith of Missouri; two brothers, William Frizzell of Fayetteville, Ark., and Tony Frizzell of Monticello, Ark.; two sisters, Wendy Crain of Monticello and Mary Carter of Benton, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Blunt was born in Illinois and had been a Vicksburg resident for many years. He was a driver for Riverside Construction Co. for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Ray Taylor; and his mother, Vela Sue Biggs.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Smith Blunt of Vicksburg; two daughters, Rose Sorrells of Oklahoma and Alisha Blunt of Vicksburg; one son, Raymond Blunt of Vicksburg; two brothers, Brian Keith Blunt of Arkansas and Willie Swires of Texas; a sister, Nikki Swires of Florida; and three grandchildren.
