Madie Rollison Smith

Mrs. Madie Rollison Smith died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Vicksburg Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 102.

Born in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Manning Eugene Flowers and Fannie Belle Rollison Flowers. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Smith was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Margie Rollison Lambert of Vicksburg; a son, Alfred Rollison (Anne) of Vicksburg; daughter-in-law, Grace Lee Rollison of Vicksburg; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fed Rollison and John E. Smith; two sons, Henry Rollison and Kenny Rollison; daughter, Elvira “Semore” Carter; brother, Carol Flowers; and two grandchildren, Jerry Lynn Gray and Willie Carter.

The family would like to express appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Covenant Health and Rehab, Camellia Hospice and Dan Ellis and his staff at The Wound Center.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Abel, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Rollison, James Mills, Marty McAdory, David Richards, Kenny Earl Carter and Jimmy McDermott.
