Rainbow Casino will become Lady Luck Casino by the end of the year, a spokeswoman with the casino’s parent company said Thursday.

Isle of Capri announced in June the Warrenton Road casino would be renamed by the end of October. Now, the safest bet is year’s end, said Jill Alexander, senior director of corporate communications for the St. Louis-based gaming company.

The name change has been planned since the Isle purchased Rainbow in 2010.

A $5 million list of renovations has included new dining and entertainment venues, including Otis and Henry’s restaurant and the Lone Wolf bar.

The Isle opened what is now DiamondJacks in 1993 and was Vicksburg’s first casino. Rainbow opened in 1994.

Vicksburg has two other operating casinos, Ameristar and Riverwalk.

A fifth, Grand Station — the city’s only downtown casino — has been closed for nearly a year.
