Dr. Jewell Wendell Fortenberry Jr. was born on Sept. 10, 1956, to Jewell W. Fortenberry Sr. and Rena Dean Fortenberry in Port Gibson. He departed this life on Oct. 18, 2012, at the age of 56.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dr. Fortenberry leaves to cherish his memory two children, Janet Edwards (Terrence) of Smyrna, Ga., and Jewell Fortenberry III of Atlanta; one granddaughter, Natalie of Berrien Springs, Mich.; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, physicians, nurses, and beloved friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 am Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Murray Brothers Funeral Home Cascade Chapel in Atlanta.
