Mr. Cartwright weds Miss Sims on Aug. 25

Jamie Marvel Cartwright and Rasheda Jurea Sims were married at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25, 2012, at the Belmont Mansion in Nashville, Tenn. Brandon Rich officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Robert E. Sims of Snellville, Ga., and Julia Sims of Bolton. She is the granddaughter of Leola Mounger of Bolton and the late Louis Sims Sr. and Pecolia Sims of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of the late John T. Cartwright and Melzena Cartwright of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank James Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Cartwright.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were chocolate, cream and burnt orange.

A program of music was presented by Jessica Hayes-Williams, pianist, and Leona Lashon, Angela Gist and Taj London, soloists.

Matron of honor was Toni Lowe-Fisher of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Ruby S. Smith of Atlanta and Adrian M. Holbert, Mechelle McNair and Chastity N. Cartwright, all of Nashville.

Junior bridesmaid was Breshae Stamps of Vicksburg. Tia Sims of Atlanta served as junior bride.

Otis James Jr. of Las Vegas and Jason Winston of Jackson served as best men. Groomsmen were Derrick Smith and Deric Gibbs, both of Dallas, and Oscar Denton of Vicksburg.

Junior groomsman was Tyler McNair of Nashville. Trenton McNair served as junior groom.

Ushers were Tiras Sims of Atlanta and Crispus Sims of Grambling, La.

Ring bearer was Harrison Fisher of Vicksburg.

A reception followed at the mansion. Hostesses were Shanna Cockrell of Washington, D.C.; Brandy Johnson of Jackson; and Betsy Applewhite of Clarksville, Tenn.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Las Vegas. They will make their home in Nashville.

Showers

The bride was honored with a shower/bachelorette party by members of her bridal party and Shanna Cockrell.

Aunts of the groom honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower.
