Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church will host its 42nd annual fall bazaar and spaghetti dinner Saturday.

The event is sponsored by the United Methodist Women, but they get help for the fundraiser from the entire congregation, UMW member Nancy Ballard said.

“There is no chairman for the event, we just all pitch in,” she said.

Ballard said the money raised from the bazaar and dinner help fund overseas missions and local projects within the community during the year.

The bazaar is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include bake sale items, canned goods and crafts.

“We have homemade pickles, aprons, holiday wreaths, crocheted items, bottles of spices and Christmas ornaments,” UMW president Ruth O’ Bannon said.

The spaghetti dinners will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 and will include coleslaw, french bread and cake. Take-outs will be available.

Ballard said they have never sold out of tickets and any of the leftover spaghetti sauce is sold to church members.
