A 17-year-old Grove Street School student accused of hitting a Vicksburg High School student with his car was being held in the Warren County Youth Detention Center Friday, Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Because the students involved are juveniles, no names were released.

Stewart said the 17-year-old is charged with simple assault with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.
