A Vicksburg man was hospitalized in Jackson Saturday after a shooting on Alcorn Drive in the Rolling Acres housing development at about 8 p.m.

Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said Bobby Nelson, 30, was shot in the lower abdomen by his brother, Timothy Nelson, 27, during an argument at their sister’s home at 131 Alcorn Drive. The brothers live at 1319 Mundy St. It was unclear what the brothers were arguing about, Stewart said.

Stewart said Timothy Nelson fled the area in an unidentified car and police set up a driver’s license check on Mission 66 shortly after the shooting.
