Muirhead weds Melancon at The Baer House

Dan Edward Muirhead III and Emily Elizabeth Melancon were married at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22, 2012, in the gardens at The Baer House. The Rev. Brian Joseph Parker officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ray and Nancy Melancon of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Luke and Phyllis Mobley and Al and Merle Melancon, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Edward Muirhead II of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Jack and Estelle Jordan of Vicksburg and Bob and Darlene Roberts of Madison.

The bride was given in marriage by Ray Allen Melancon. Her chosen colors were muted shades of peach, mocha and buttercream.

A string orchestra accompanied vocalists Tim and Desi Goodson and Emily Young Frizzell.

Matrons of honor were Desiree Melancon Goodson of Vicksburg and Anna Melancon Tillotson of Flowood.

Bridesmaids were Ansley McMillin Fulcher and TyAnn Alicia Williamson, both of Vicksburg; Abigail Lyda Collins of Clinton; Carrie Elizabeth Tilley of Jackson; Jennifer Lee DuBose of Baton Rouge; Emily Young Frizzell of Cordova, Tenn.; Lindsey Elise Lozes of Mandeville, La.; and Lindsay Elizabeth Unland of New Orleans.

Junior bridesmaid was Megan Mobley Collins of Clinton.

Benjamin Jordan Muirhead of Vicksburg served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Charles Amborn, Brett Lloyd Bagwell, Joshua Ray Blackmon, Chad Richard Bounds, Brady Jeff Ellis, Ryan Adam Fulcher, Timothy David Goodson and Howard Charles Waring, all of Vicksburg; Richard Neil Tillotson of Flowood; and Christopher Paul Talley of Mesa, Ariz.

Ushers were Beau Theobald of Vicksburg and Wes Rowland of Clinton.

Flower girl was Paislee Raye Goodson of Vicksburg. Ring bearers were Trip and Gage Mobley of Laurel.

Cross bearer was Zachary Wilson Collins of Clinton. Sign attendants were Allison Deserie Blackmon and Jackson Ray Blackmon, both of Vicksburg.

Special wedding assistant was Allyson Mobley Collins of Vicksburg. Scripture reader was Elizabeth Wall Konzleman of Osyka.

Natalie Lyons Waring of Vicksburg served as the bride’s proxy. The couple’s pastor, Dr. Chas Rowland, offered a special prayer.

A reception followed on the grounds of the Baer House. For a honeymoon, the couple traveled to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

They will make their home in Vicksburg, where the bride is employed at The Ivy Place and the groom is employed with the Muirhead Agency.

Rehearsal dinner

Members of the wedding party were transported by the Double Dutch Bus to Roca Restaurant, where the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner.

Bridesmaids’ brunch

Phyllis Mobley and Merle Melancon hosted a bridesmaids’ brunch at The Corners.

Luncheon

Carol McMillin and Martha Mobley hosted a luncheon at the Mary Harwood House.

Parties

Bridesmaids honored the bride and groom with a housewarming party at the couple’s new home.

A Meet the Party party was held at the home of the bride and groom.

Showers

Joan Muirhead, Jane Muirhead and Lisa Coleson hosted a china and crystal shower at the Joan Muirhead home.

Desiree Goodson and Anna Tillotson hosted a holiday shower.

The couple was honored with a honey-do shower hosted by Chad and Alicia Bounds.

A shower at Bovina Baptist Church was hosted by the ladies of the church.
