Lemuel F. Smith died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Smith was a retired self-employed truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin Smith; his mother, Mamie Hastings; his wife, Kathleen Smith; a son, Terry Smith; two brothers, Thomas Smith and Lloyd Smith; and three sisters, Helen Allison, Delphine Henderson and Martha Eckensire.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita S. Foster of Vicksburg and Threasa Robertson of Fruitland Park, Fla.; two sons, Marlin Smith of Bostwick, Ga., and Joe Smith of Vicksburg; two sisters, Mattie Porter of Maryville, Tenn., and Judy Childs of Porter, Ind.; and nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bradley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Fields officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home and Thursday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Lee Smith, Cody Smith, Mitch Worthy, Jessie Brooks, Ryan Lynn and Bobby Leach.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Pool, Elvin Clark, Billy Leach, Bobby Leach, Eddie Hoover, Lane Grimshel and Sam Grimshel.
