COLUMBIA — Lorraine Betty Rucker Montgomery died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Marion General Hospital in Columbia. She was 79.

Mrs. Montgomery was born Nov. 15, 1933. She was a homemaker and a member of Improve Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Wayne Montgomery; her parents, David and Grace Story Rucker; a sister, Lois Rucker; and a brother, Gene Rucker.

She is survived by two sons, Steven Wayne Montgomery of Vicksburg and Gregory Dean Montgomery of Columbia; a sister, Joyce Swenson of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 today at Colonial Funeral Home, 323 Second St. in Columbia. Burial will follow at Improve Baptist Church Cemetery with Darel Daniels and Jeremy Montgomery officiating.
