James Mac Scott Jr.

Services for James Mac Scott Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at I-20 Church of Christ, 3333 N. Frontage Road, with Dr. Willie Nettle officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Scott died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 68.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1944, in Vicksburg to the late James and Ruth Scott. He graduated from Rosa A. Temple High School. He worked for 29 years at Marathon-LeTourneau until it closed, then worked and retired in 2006 from International Paper Company.

He was a member of Bypass Church of Christ, where he served as a shepherd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Scott and Mary S. Chambers; and one brother, Clarence D. Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Scott; three sons, James Phillip Shelton and Benjamin Shelton, both of Vicksburg, and Medgar Scott of Rochester Hills, Mich.; four daughters, Belle Hickman of Columbus, Mariea Toniett Shelton of Jackson and Iris Ragan and Alisa Scott, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Rosa L. Sanders and Kalana Shelton, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Lamar Gray and Paul Shelton, both of Vicksburg, and Greg Shelton of Dallas, Texas; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Edna Williams, Rutha Eastman, Frank Cosey, members of the Caldwell, Cosey, Davenport, Barnes and Gibson families, all of Vicksburg.
