Irma Mary Mlakar died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Heritage House Retirement Center. She was 97.

Born in Joliet, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Martin Hugel and Rose Mayer Hugel. Mrs. Mlakar was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. She was a former resident of Largo, Fla., and had been a resident of Vicksburg for eight years. She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by a son, Paul Francis Mlakar of Vicksburg; a grandson, Paul Francis Mlakar Jr. of Alma, Ark.; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis Anthony Mlakar Jr.; a grandson, Dennis Paul Mlakar; and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home. Interment services will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
