Brenneth Johnson died Monday, January 27, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 63.
Mr. Johnson attended public schools in Meridian, and spent more than 25 years in the trucking industry, primarily as an owner/operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bervis Columbus Johnson and Egetta Britton Johnson, and a sister, Leslie Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Kara Thomas Johnson; three sons, Jametonth Smith, Brenneth Johnson Jr., both of Meridian, and Julian Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Jacqueline Smith of Carthage, and Brenee Johnson of Carteret, N.J.; 10 brothers, Bervis Johnson of Raleigh, N.C., Larry Jones, Gregory Johnson, Randall Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Stacy Johnson and Tony Johnson all of Meridian, Roderick Johnson of San Diego, Derrick Johnson of San Jose, Calif., and Joey Johnson of Las Vegas; six sisters, Audrey Wilson of Lexington, S.C., Sharon McQuirter, Tuchella Wright, Sybrena Hopson, Econdrea Johnson, and Salitha Johnson all of Meridian; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with Father Denny Allman officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
