Charles Lacey Herron

Charles Lacey Herron died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was 71.
Mr. Herron attended Rosa A. Temple High School and was owner and operator of Herron Tree Service for 44 years. He had also been employed by International Paper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Herron Sr. and Alberta Herron, and one brother, Freddie Herron.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Herron of Vicksburg; a son, Charles W. Herron, Jr. of Vicksburg; four daughters, Lisa Gibbs of Dallas, Beridonia Herron of Atlanta, Janie Green of Fayetteville, Ga., Alberta Herron Albert of Vicksburg; a stepson, Bobby Williams of Calumet City, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Herron of Los Angeles, and Wilson Herron Jr. of Vicksburg; seven sisters, Earnestine Marley and Rosa McGowan, both of Vicksburg, Debra Marley Smith and Barbara Moore, both of Los Angeles, Bobbie H. Brown of Adelanto, Calif., and Dominique Herron and Dietris Barnes, both of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Holly Grove M.B. Church, with pastor Rachel Pitt officiating. Burial will follow at Lynch Chapel Cemetery, Redwood, under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from noon until the hour of service.
