Frank Eason

ROLLING FORK — Frank Eason died Feb. 23, 2014, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 82.

He was a Korean War veteran, entering the U.S. Army in 1952 and was discharged in 1954 with the rank of sergeant first class. He served in the 27th Infantry and received the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a member and deacon of Mount Ollie M. B. Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie Eason of Rolling Fork; two sons, Dwarrye G. Collins of Chicago, and Frank Eason Jr. of Rolling Fork; two daughters, Murindia Williams of Rolling Fork, Frankcine Simmons of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Daisy Mae Overton of Chicago; and 16 grandchildren.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Mount Lula Church in Rolling Fork with burial at Mount Ollie Church Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell L.Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mount Ollie M. B. Church. A special viewing will be Saturday at Mount Ollie from noon until the service.
