John Thomas Crevitt Jr., 89, of Vicksburg died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Promise Specialty Hospital.
Mr. Crevitt was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was employed by Mississippi Hardware as a sales associate for 40-plus years, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force, and was a POW.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Crevitt Sr.; mother, Ruth Cotton Crevitt; mother, Katherine Crevitt; and sister Vivian Regan.
Survivors include cousins, Margaret Nixon Rossetti of Vicksburg, Helen Crevitt Nicholson of Madison, Jeff Crevitt of Vicksburg, Marty Crevitt of Vicksburg, Sandra Crevitt of Vicksburg, Tonia Lane of Brandon, Benny Crevitt of Meridian, Kim Dearman of Terry, Billie Marshall of Natchez and Chris Crevitt of San Francisco, Calif.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg, with the Rev. Tom Lalor officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home .
Pallbearers will be Benny Crevitt, Marty Crevitt, Jeff Crevitt, Larry Crevitt, Tommy Crevitt, Harold Nicholson Jr. and Robert Foley. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Irwin, Dr. Paul Pierce III and Dr. David Halinski.
