A home in Point Place was destroyed in a fire believed to have been caused this morning by a home appliance.

The home of Houston Williams, 108 East Park Place, was destroyed by flames about 5 a.m. this morning, said Culkin Fire Chief Lamar Fredrick.

Williams was headed out of town when the fire occured and no one was injured, said Fredrick.

Fredrick said that the fire is believed to have started in the master bedroom of the home by an iron that was left on. The fire destroyed the entire home, said Fredrick.
