Paul Wayne Cothran

Paul Wayne Cothran died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his residence. He was 67.
Born in Maben, he had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1971. Mr. Cothran was the son of the late J. W. Cothran and Minnie Alice Williams Cothran. He served two years in Vietnam with the Army, receiving awards, medals and the Purple Heart.
He was employed by LeTourneau as a machinist and in later years with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in the model shop at the Engineering Research and Development Center. Mr. Cothran was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, and attended Immanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha A. Cothran; two sons, Scott Cothran and Michael Cothran, both of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Bryan Cothran and Elizabeth Cothran; sister, Sandra Smith of Starkville; and two brothers, Johnny Cothran of Maben, and Floyd Cothran of Stuttgart, Ark.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruby Diane Johnson Cothran, and a sister Shelia Ovens.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating.
Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Yokena Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to charities of choice.
Pallbearers will be Mark Daniels, Huelon Barnett, David Cochran, David Lyons, Ronnie Muirhead and Billy Johnson.
