The engagement of Ashley Marie Magee and Mitchell Scott Lawrence, both of Vicksburg, is announced today.

Miss Magee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Michael Sweeney Jr. of Wilmington, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. John Kevin Magee of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Angela Chatagnier Hart of Jackson, Mr. Joe Phillip Hart of Madison and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Davis Magee of Rolling Fork.

Mr. Lawrence is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Anderson Lawrence of Nashville, Tenn.  He is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy May Connell of Colorado Springs, Co., Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Anderson Lawrence of Nashville, Tenn., the late Mr. Russell Eugene Connell, and the late Mrs. Jacqueline Hohman Lawrence.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of St. Aloysius High School.  She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University.  She is employed as a Legal Assistant at Verhine & Verhine, PLLC.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Father Ryan High School in Nashville, Tenn.  He received a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Mississippi. He is employed as an Operator at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

The wedding will be at 3:30 p.m. April 26, 2014, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Vicksburg. A reception will follow at The Southern Cultural Heritage Center.  Family and friends are invited to attend.
