Man charged with pushing baby down stairs

A Vicksburg man accused of shoving a baby in a stroller down a flight of stairs was held without bail this morning.
Eddie Davis, 66, who lives on Grove Street, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with felony child abuse, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.
Davis, who was in an argument with the child’s mother, pushed the child down a flight of stairs while the 19-month old was strapped into a stroller, she said.
The child was taken to River Region Medical Center and was treated and released, Williams said.
Davis was held without bail this morning in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting an initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court.
Pot, LSD found in arrest
A Warren County man accused of having more than a pound of marijuana and multiple hits of LSD was held without bail this morning.
Samuel Colling Bove, 23, who lives on Hankinson Road, was arrested Friday near Washington and Veto streets and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and possession of LSD with intent to deliver, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Three glass jars containing approximately a pound of high-grade marijuana were found in a backpack inside the vehicle.
Two sheets of LSD blotter paper were found in the glove compartment of the vehicle, Pace said.
“LSD is not as common as it was in the ’60s and ’70s, but it’s not gone away,” Pace said.
Bove was held without bail in the Warren County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
Two held in burglary
A Warren County teen accused of breaking into a vehicle Thursday on Mount Alban Road was held without bail this morning.
William Cody Breland, 18, who lives on Whatley Road and a 17-year-old were arrested Friday and charged with auto burglary, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The two are accused of stealing items Thursday in a break-in on Mount Alban Road.
“We have recovered the credit cards, tools and some ammunition that were taken in the auto burglary,” Pace said.
Breland was held without bail in the Warren County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
The 17-year-old was also taken into custody and was held this morning in the Warren County Youth Detention Center.
Stereo, cash missing in burglary
Stereo equipment and cash were missing following two burglaries over the weekend in Vicksburg.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, a car stereo and speakers with a combined value of $1,100 was reported stolen from a 1991 Nissan Maxima in the 2700 block of Alcorn Drive, Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said.
At 11 p.m., Sunday, $300 was reported stolen from a 1984 Monte Carlo in the 200 block of Bellevue Street, Williams said.
