Breaking: Chenier not guilty of conspiracy; jury hung on forgery

After two and a half hours of deliberation, jurors acquitted Dr. Lawrence Francis Chenier III of conspiracy but failed to reach a verdict on 73 counts of prescription forgery.
Chenier, who practices medicine in Tallulah but lives in Vicksburg, said he was grateful for the acquittal on the conspiracy charge.
“It’s been a traumatic ordeal these three years,” he said.
