ROLLING FORK — Ethel Lee Davis Brown died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 78.

Mrs. Brown was born Nov. 4, 1935 in Madison County, and attended Holy Ghost Catholic School. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Jackson State University, a degree in guidance counseling from Wisconsin University, and a degree in administration and supervision from Delta State University.

She was a former teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal and principal in the South Delta School District. She was a former board member of Mississippi Christian Family Service, a former Sharkey County election commissioner and was employed as a case manager at the Issaquena County Corrections Facility in Mayersville.

She was a member of Mount Lula M.B. Church, where she was a Bible school leader, Baptist Training Union Leader, vacation Bible school director, Bible class instructor and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her mother, Lottie Davis of Canton; son Calvin Stewart of Greenville; daughter Tonia Brown of Rolling Fork; four sisters, Barbara Jackson of Rolling Fork, Rose Wiley of Jackson, Vinetta Jones of Radcliff, Ky., and Rheushell Harrison of Burton, Mich.; one grandson; and other relatives and friends.

Services are noon Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Mount Lula M.B. Church with Dr. Peter Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Mitchell L. Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.

Visitation is Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church, and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
