Vikings rout Richland with balanced effort

Everyone got in on the fun for Warren Central on Tuesday.

Six different players scored goals, and Braylen Greer had two assists, as the Vikings routed Richland 6-0.

Jacob Cochran and Nick Wright each had a goal and an assist, while Nathan Madsen, Sean Dixon and Jelmer Van Heerden all scored a goal for WC (5-1-2).

The Vikings will play West Harrison Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Pearl. On Saturday, they’ll play tournament host Northwest Rankin at 1 p.m. and Sacred Heart at 7.

Brooke Patterson had 13 saves in goal for Warren Central, but Richland (6-2) still got the best of her five times in the first half and went on to rout the Lady Vikes (3-4).

WC will face former coach Trey Banks and Northwest Rankin in that school’s tournament Friday at 4 p.m. Banks is now an assistant coach at Norhwest Rankin.

On Saturday, the Lady Vikes play Petal at 3:30 p.m. and Sacred Heart at 5:45, also at Northwest Rankin.
