Dorothy Lee “Dot” Stewart died in Vicksburg Jan. 1, 2015. She was 74.
Mrs. Stewart was born June 5, 1940, in Union Church to the late Joseph Stewart and late Oleavia Stewart.
After moving to Vicksburg she worked at Anderson Tully as a stick operator for 17 years. She attended church at Mount Mariah and later attended to King David No. 2. M.B. Church for the next 26 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Gloria Stewart, Josephine Stewart and Lula Stewart; five brothers, Kenny Stewart, Carl Stewart, Tim Stewart, Roscoe Stewart and George Stewart.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Freeman of Arlington, Texas, Debora Davenport, Linda Love and Jackie Jones, all of Vicksburg, Rose Wilson of Union Church and Christine Bingham of Houston, Texas; sons, Walter Stewart, Sammy Stewart, Bobby Ray Stewart and Roscoe Stewart, all of Vicksburg, Leroy Stewart of Cleveland, Eddie Stewart of Kansas City, Mo., and Ricky Barnes and Wilbert Barnes both of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mary Marshall of Vicksburg and Carrie Mae Miller of Utica; three brothers, Phillip Stewart of Vicksburg, and Clifton Stewart and Bill Stewart both of Saginaw, Mich.; 65 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives.
Services will be noon Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church with the Rev. Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. with family present from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
