Lady Vikes rally for big division victory

Warren Central’s first half performance was dreadful. Its effort in the second half, however, was stupendous.
The Lady Vikes, who only scored 12 points in the first half, rallied from nine down at halftime to beat Murrah 48-41 Tuesday for a key division win.
Dominique Caldwell led Warren Central with 12 points, while Shae Bracey and Coco Fultz scored seven apiece.
Warren Central (12-10, 2-1 Division 4-6A) won for the sixth time in seven games in January and moved into a tie for first place in the division with Clinton.
WC plays at Clinton next Tuesday.
“We came back with a new offense, more hustle, and made a game out of it,” WC coach Jackie Glass said. “I’m proud of how we are playing when the odds are against us.”
(B) Warren Central 64, Murrah 58
Chris Stamps scored a game-high 17 points, and Warren Central (11-12, 1-2 Division 4-6A) picked up its first division win of the season.
Shaun Walton added 14 points for WC, Mario Doyle scored 11 and Larry Ferguson had eight. Jessie Wilson had seven assists.
The Vikings outscored Murrah 20-12 in the third quarter to take control of the game and kept the Mustangs at bay the rest of the way.
(B) Greenville Christian 43, PCA 31
Javontae Frye had 12 points and five steals for Porters Chapel, but Greenville Christian pulled away with some sharp free throw shooting late in the game to beat the Eagles.
Eric Jackson had seven points and 10 rebounds for PCA, and Josh Daffron finished with six points and 10 rebounds.
(B) St. Aloysius 76, Bogue Chitto 58
Connor Smith scored a game-high 24 points, and St. Aloysius went 27-for-44 from the free throw line to beat Bogue Chitto.
The Flashes used their sharp free throw shooting to stay in the game early, then started hitting shots from the field late to put it away. They outscored Bogue Chitto 24-7 in the fourth quarter to win going away after leading 52-51 entering the period.
Drake Dorbeck had eight points and 18 rebounds for St. Al, which nearly had three players finish with double-doubles. Luck Eckstein had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Rett Verhine had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
(G) Bogue Chitto 62, St. Aloysius 45
Christian Black scored 16 points, Karlie Williams had 15, and Bogue Chitto (15-3, 2-1 Division 7-1A) steadily pulled away for a victory over St. Aloysius.
Michelle Howington had 16 points and eight rebounds for St. Al, and Claire Gamble scored 12 points.
