A Vicksburg man and a 15-year-old accused of stealing cash and cigarettes from a woman on Washington Street will stand trial in November.

Jerald Smith, 21, 205 Hills of the Valley, and Johnny Hicks, 15, 1511 Military Ave. appeared Friday before Circuit Court Isadore Patrick to be arraigned after an indictment by the Warren County grand jury for armed robbery.

Both entered not guilty pleas, and Patrick set trial for both defendants for Nov. 2

If convicted, both face up to life in prison.

Smith and Hicks are accused of pulling a gun on a woman and demanding the items July 23 in the 1300 block of Washington Street, according to court records.

A woman who was shot while police say she was breaking into the home of an elderly man and her accused accomplice will stand trial in September.

Betty Robertson, 42, 523 Hall Road, and Carl Marshall, 56, 1846 Natchez Ave entered not guilty pleas after indictment for burglary of a dwelling.

The pair is accused of breaking into the home of Roosevelt Wilson on Oct. 29. Wilson shot Robertson in the leg during the break-in, police have said.

Patrick set trial for the pair for Sept. 28.

• William Cody Breland, 19, who lists multiple addresses — five counts of vehicle burglary, Aug. 29 though Sept. 8.

• Jerry B. Burt III, 44, 328 Gallatin St., Jackson — two counts of false pretense, Feb. 19.

• Derrick Lashun Chiplin, 41, 1312 Bowmar Ave. — two counts of sale of a controlled substance, Dec. 3.

• Darrell Fultz, 49, 202 Willaims Ave., Edwards — burglary of a dwelling, Oct. 30.

• Elijah Parker, 52, 6323 Jackson St. — aggravated assault, Oct. 20.

• Jamel K. Jackson, 17, 111 Starlight Drive — vehicle burglary, April 30.

• Brian Willis Odom, 24, who lists multiple addresses — burglary, commercial burglary, three counts of grand larceny, May 28.

• Thomas Jefferson Rials, 19, 581 Stenson Road, Lot 16 — burglary, grand larceny.

• Vaughn Joshua Shaw, 21, 1514 Baum St. — burglary, grand larceny, receiving stolen property, Oct. 21.

• Quinton Daniel Steadman, 19, 100 Jones Road, Lot 3 — burglary, grand larceny.

• Cirrus Dezell Taylor, 19, 3135 N. Washington St. — burglary, Oct. 25.
