James Edward Beaube

PORT GIBSON — James Edward Beaube died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Veterans Administration Home in Oxford. He was 93.
Mr. Beaube was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Claiborne County and was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 155th Field Artillery 5th Army in North Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. He was present at the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp.
He returned to Claiborne County after the war and worked for and retired from the American Paper Tube Co. He also worked as a substitute rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and operated a farm. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Nell Anderson Beaube.
Survivors include his two daughters, Judy Brown of Glen Allan and Deborah Quinn of Annandale, Va.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Annie Laurie Greer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Funeral Home, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
