The St. Aloysius Flashes ran roughshod — and did it really quickly — over the rest of the field Wednesday at the Crystal Springs Invitational.
The Flashes netted 11 first-place finishes and cruised to the team title, 79-46 over Port Gibson.
DeMichael Harris led the way with individual victories in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, and was part of the winning 4×400 meter relay team. Harris won the 100 meters with a time 10.93 seconds and the 200 in 22.02 seconds.
Tae Warnsley was also on the 4×400 meter relay — along with Connor Bottin and Emanuel Islam — and won indvidual ribbons in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.
Warnsley posted a time of 15.7 seconds in the 110 hurdles and 42.5 seconds in the 300.
Luke Eckstein also won twice, in the high jump and 3,200 meter run, and Josh Price won in the shot put and discus. Chandler Roesch took first in the 1,600 meter run.
St. Al also cruised to victory in the girls’ meet, totaling 117 points, 10 first-place finishes and 19 top-twos to nearly double up runner-up Port Gibson.
Alyssa Engel finished first in the long jump, triple jump and 200 meters to lead the Lady Flashes’ charge.
Madalyn Polk and Madelyn Burke finished first and second, respectively, in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs. Claire Jamison won the high jump and was part of the winning 4×400 meter relay team with Olivia Waring, Elizabeth Lawless and Jaleigh Ehrgott.
Maggie Waites (pole vault), Emily Phillips (800 meters) and Tori Thomas (shot put) also won individual events.
Both the Flashes and Lady Flashes will return to action Saturday in a meet at Wilkinson County High School in Woodville.
