Despite his best efforts, the medalist honor at Tuesday’s Vicksburg High Invitational slipped away from Channing Curtis. He settled, instead, for helping St. Aloysius to the team trophy at Clear Creek Golf Course

Curtis made birdie on his last hole to finish with a 71 and force a playoff with Ridgeland’s Parker Rogers, then drained a 30-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to stay alive.

Rogers then made birdie on the second playoff while Curtis settled for par to take medalist.
