Tennessee tops M-Braves

PEARL — The Tennessee Smokies jumped out to a quick lead and racked up 16 hits en route to a 6-3 victory over the Mississippi Braves Sunday afternoon at Trustmark Park.
Dan Vogelbach was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored for Tennessee.
Albert Almora went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, and Christian Villanueva was 2-for-5 with three RBIs.
Daniel Castro had four hits for the M-Braves. They also drew eight walks against Tennessee’s pitchers, but left 11 runners on base. That included three in the ninth inning, after they loaded the bases with one out.
Steve Rodriguez drew a bases-loaded walk to cut the deficit to 6-3, but K.D. Kang flied to left for the final out.
The five-game series is tied at two games apiece. The rubber match is today
