Dona Earl Hill ‘HillCity Crow’

Dona Earl “HillCity Crow” Hill died Monday, April 20, 2015, in Vicksburg. He was 65.

Mr. Hill was born in Hinds County Dec. 1. 1949, and attended Rosa A. Temple High School. He worked as a truck driver for more than 40 years before retiring from Power Transportation, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dona (Carrie) Hill; and a brother, Carey Leon Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Naylor Hill of Vicksburg; three sons, Xavier James Hill of Vicksburg, Patrick Gregory (April) Bingham of Mobile, Ala., and Don (Demetrice) Hill of Kansas City, Mo.; five sisters, Ada (W.C.) Jordan of Bolton, Mary Rockingham of Rolling Fork, Felicia George of Dallas, Catherine Stewart of Jackson and Brenda Ross of San Bernadino, Calif.; nine brothers, Samuel Hill, Michael Hill and Curtis Ross, all of Vicksburg, Robert (Sharon) Hill of Vallejo, Calif., Johnny Hill of Flint, Mich., Amos (Caroline) Ross of Raleigh, N.C., Alfred (Senora) Hill of Phoenix City, Ala., Shefrie (Sharon) Staples of Las Vegas and Johnny (Brenda) Staples of Yazoo City; and nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Benjamin Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
