Mary Alpe Branciere

Mary Alpe Branciere died May 3, 2015, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 96.

Born in Lake Village, Ark., she was the daughter of Silivo and Josephine Alpe.

Mrs. Branciere was a nurse at Lake Village Infirmary and also in Vicksburg. She was manager and coordinator of an interior design shop in Donaldsonville, La.

Mrs. Branciere was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and St. Paul Altar Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Louis Branciere, five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Jo Gayle Whitcher of Edwards and Rosemary Abbott of Vicksburg; one son, John Andrew Branciere of Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson.

Mrs. Branciere was known affectionately by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson as “Mama B.”

A memorial Mass will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Tom Lalor, pastor, officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
