FLOWERS — Two people were shot in a car in the westbound lane of Interstate 20 at Flowers on the Hinds County-Warren County line about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Pace said a man and a woman were taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds after they were found in the car, which was parked on the side of highway. He said a cell phone call reporting the shooting was directed to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, and a Hinds County deputy found the couple in the car about half-mile inside the Warren Count line. The deputy then notified Warren County.

He said authorities are trying to determine if the shooting occurred in Hinds or Warren County.
