Annie Lanelle Jones died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at her home. She was 84.
Born and reared in Simpson County, she had made her home in Vicksburg since 1961. For many years, she was employed at the Glass Kitchen and then the Beechwood Restaurant. She loved the outdoors and was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Viola Kelly; her brothers, Jim Kelly, Edwin Kelly and Nelson Kelly; her sister, Peggy Owen and her husbands, R.H. Buckley and A.M. “Tubby” Jones.
Survivors include her son, Bruce Buckley of Vicksburg; daughter, Sherry Schlesier of Vicksburg; brother, Robert Kelly of Florence; two sisters, Merle Ahner and Jewel Welch of Harrisville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home with her nephew, Pastor Jerry Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chad Buckley, Craig Schlesier, Jeffey Schlesier, Clay Griffing, Michael Foster, Bill Clegg, Chad Kelly and Matt Sharpe. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Welch, Richard Welch, J.J. Welch and Freddie Nosser.
