WC boys soccer tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity boys soccer team will be held Monday and Tuesday, on the practice field adjacent to Mississippi 27. All participants must wear shin guards, have a current physical and a completed parental consent form.

Tryouts for Warren Central’s slow- and fast-pitch softball teams for the 2015-16 season will be held May 13-15 at the Lucy Young softball field.

Slow-pitch tryouts will be Wednesday, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Fast-pitch tryouts will be Thursday and Friday, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Registration for the tryouts will be held Tuesday, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Lucy Young Field. All players must have a current physical.

Play 2 Wynn basketball camp

Former Vicksburg High star Donna Brown-Wynn will host her 13th annual Play 2 Wynn basketball camp June 1-5 at Vicksburg High School. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day, and is for boys and girls ages 6-17. The cost is $75 per person. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

Brown is a former VHS and Mississippi State star who went on to coach at Mississippi State, Belmont University and Tennessee State.

Red Cross Learn to Swim class

Registration for the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” program will be held May 13-15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and May 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at City Pool.

The cost of each two-week session is $12, and classes are held Monday through Friday. All participants must be at least 5 years old at the beginning of the course.

The sessions will run from June 1-12, June 22-July 3, and July 13-24. Three classes, at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5:45 p.m., will be held each day. Adult and preschool classes are at 5:45 p.m. only.

Hinds CC football camps

The Hinds Community College football program will host a 7-on-7 camp, as well as a camp for offensive and defensive linemen on the Raymond campus in June.

The linemen camp runs from June 22-24. Registration begins at noon on June 22. The cost of the camp is $150 for those registered by June 1, or $175 after that date.

The 7-on-7 camp is a one-day session on June 25, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The cost of the camp is $200 for a team of 20 players, plus $25 for each additional player.

All players must have a current physical form and a signed waiver.
