The Rev. Arthur L. Williams

PORT GIBSON — Services for the Rev. Arthur L. Williams will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Waterloo M.B. Church in Lorman with Rev. Leon Howard officiating. The Rev. Craig Williams will do the eulogy.

The Rev. Williams died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 76. He was a pastor for 30 years and at the time of his death he was serving as assistant pastor of Waterloo M.B. Church. He had also pastored churches in Chicago and was retired from U.S. Steel and United Airlines.

Burial will follow be the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from noon until service time Thursday at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Williams of Port Gibson; three sons, Bryant Williams, Reginald Williams and Craig Williams, all of Chicago; a daughter, Hortense Williams of Port Gibson; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including a special cousin, Hattie Moore of Jackson.
