MSU Road Dawgs Tour

The Mississippi State Road Dawgs 2015 Tour will make a stop at the Vicksburg Convention Center on Tuesday. The featured speaker is defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, and the event is hosted by the Warren County chapter of the Mississippi State alumni association.

The social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and the main program at 7. Tickets are $13 per person and includes a buffet dinner.

Clear Creek Ladies golf report

On Wednesday, the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association hosted its annual Laverne Russell Memorial Invitational Tournament. The format was a two-lady scramble.

Championship flight winners were the team of E. Foley and C. Jones in first place, C. Barker and D. Tidmore in second, and S. Hughes and S. Kern in third.

First flight winners were E. Hall and L. Nix in first place, L. McHann and D. Robinson in second, and S. Burns and S. Turner in third. Second flight winners were J. Taylor and J. Troupe in first place, B. Tucker and K. Gibbs in second, and P. Dhonau and F. Ward in third.

Third flight winners were J. Berg and R. Trout in first place, A. Jones and T. Saunier in second, and L. Brush and J. Hanks in third.

F. Ward made the most accurate drive. J. Parker and C. Roberson made the longest drives. Closest to the pin awards went to E. Foley, B. Bunch-Glover, J. Johnson, and L. McHann.

The tournament trophies are awarded to the team with the lowest net score. This year’s trophy winners were L. Haydel and S. Pharr.

Warren Central tennis tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity tennis team will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Halls Ferry Park courts. All players should have a current physical and their own racquet. For more information, call coach Jeff Pilgrim at 601-638-3372.

Warren Central baseball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity baseball team will be held Wednesday and Thursday, at 5 p.m. each day at Viking Field. The tryouts are for students heading into grades 8-12. They must be enrolled in either Warren Central High School or Warren Central Junior High, have a current physical, and bring their own cleats and glove.

Play 2 Wynn basketball camp

Former Vicksburg High star Donna Brown-Wynn will host her 13th annual annual Play 2 Wynn basketball camp June 1-5 at Vicksburg High School. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day, and is for boys and girls ages 6-17. The cost is $75 per person. Players of all skill levels are welcome.
