Mary Jane Pinkston LaHatte

Mary Jane Pinkston LaHatte died Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 76.

Born in Vicksburg, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late John Murray Pinkston and Corean Elizabeth Stafford Pinkston. She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy in the Class of 1957. Mary Jane was a teller with Merchants National Bank for a number of years and in later years was a property manager for a real estate company.

She was a former resident of Vicksburg and had been a resident of Madison since 1990. She was a devoted family person and a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother and sister. Mary Jane was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church in Vicksburg, a member of the St, Paul Altar Society and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In later years she attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa L. Spitchley (Jay), Ridgeland, MS and Laura L. Smith (Glenn) of Birmingham, AL; two sons: Cicero LaHatte IV (Tonya) of Nashville, TN and Michael Andrews LaHatte (Lysa) of Madison, MS and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by four sisters: Ruth Pinkston Israel, Margie P. French, Betty Jean Whitaker and Corean Smith; brother: Murray Pinkston, Jr.

Services will be 11 am Thursday, May 21, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Riles Funeral Home with prayers at 6:30 p.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the service.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
