Marcia Jean Congi Cox died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Merit Heath River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 75.

Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Angelo Anthony Congi and Catharine Virginia Jewell Congi.

Jean was a graduate of the Trott School in Niagara Falls and retired as a licensed practical nurse.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Jean was an avid reader, greatly enjoyed traveling, and playing all types of games including bingo, dominos and cards. She was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Lynn Marie Cox Meagher of Harvest, Ala., and James David Cox II and his wife Allison of Vicksburg.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Erin Catharine Meagher, Ivy Marie Meagher, Connor Michael Meagher, Daniel Elijah Meagher, Catherine Scott Cox, David Zachary Cox; and a sister, JoAnn Little.

A memorial Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama -Mississippi Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 813 Shades Creek Parkway, Suite 100 B, Birmingham, AL 35209, and St. Paul Catholic Church, 713 Crawford Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
