Dewey Cameron Jones

Dewey Cameron Jones died Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 60.

Born in Jackson, he was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg.

Dewey was a graduate of Warren Central High School in the class of 1973 and attended Hinds Junior College. He was a former employee of Sigmaform with 14 years of service and in later years was a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping with his family. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Dewey is survived by two sons, Robert Brannon Jones of Starkville and Taylor Cameron Jones (Jessica) of Memphis, Tenn.; his mother, Zula D. Jones of Vicksburg; sister, Anna Jones-Skeide of Bremen, Germany; three brothers, Phillip Jones of  Flora, and Dave Jones and Glen Jones  of Vicksburg, and nieces and nephews.

Dewey was predeceased by his father, R. Henry Jones.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Campbell, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be at Henry-Grant Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Memorials may be made to favorite charities.

Pallbearers will be Chris Sullivan, Glen Jones, Eddie Henry, Lonnie Henry, Brad Pigg, Robert David Henry, Joey Simmons and Buddy Douglas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Barnes, Charles Henry, Kenny Frazier, Thomas Henry, Leon Henry, Max Evans, Jimmy Chester and Johnny Griffin.
