Mary Elizabeth Carter died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 45.

Ms. Carter was born to Sandy Jr. and Eva Grace Carter on Sept. 17, 1969, in Vicksburg, and attended Pleasant Valley M.B. Church.

She graduated from Warren Central High School and was employed as a childcare provider at Kiddie Kollege.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Georgia Lee and Early Simpson Sr. and Willie James and Dorothy Washington; paternal grandparents, Sandy Sr. and Agnes Brown Carter; and a brother, Sandy Carter III.

Survivors include her parents, Sandy and Eva Grace Carter; one brother, Michael Durman of Dallas; sisters, Pamela Brown of Mesquite, Texas, and Barbara Carter, Cathy Demby, Diane Renee Carter and Deborah Brooks, all of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 260 Mississippi 27, with the Rev. Joe Harris Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m. with family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
