Nan Jean Cashman Lundin

Nan Jean Cashman Lundin passed away from this earth and into the arms of Jesus on June 18, 2015. Jean fought the hard fight for several years with determination and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon L. Cashman and Velma Ritchie Moncure; and grandparents, Randall and Nan Cashman. Her cherished youngest child, Christopher Gary Lundin, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her beloved husband and soul mate of 55 years, Gary David Lundin. Additionally, she leaves behind daughters, Cathy Lundin Niemeyer and Nancy Marie Lundin; son, David Gregory Lundin (wife Suzy); and her only grandchild, Catherine Elise Niemeyer.

Jean was born in Vicksburg on July 4, 1935. She attended school in Vicksburg and was a graduate of Carr Central High School. She also attended St. Catherine’s Girls School in Richmond, Va.

Jean and Gary raised their four children in Meridian, Corinth, Clinton and Brookhaven. They both loved to travel and were well known for rescuing and raising more than 35 dogs over 45 years. Their current dog, Brody, is a fine and beloved example of these rescues.

 

She worked as a radiology technician, was a full-time mother and finally went into the antique business. She had her own successful shop in Brookhaven before heading out to travel with Gary for antique shows in many locations.

Her antique business was successful for over 35 years.

Riles Funeral Home in Vicksburg will be handling the arrangements and service on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., and the service will begin at 10a.m.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Alaqua Animal Rescue, 914 Whitfield Rd, Freeport, FL 32439 or the Senior Dog Project/ Two by Two Rescue, P. O. Box 708, Helena, AL
