TALLULAH, La. — Memorial services for Everett L. Edwards, 90, of Tallulah, will be Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tallulah, with Bro. Jason McGuffie officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

Mr. Edwards was born July 14, 1924, and died June 19, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Cora Edwards, and his wife, Hazel B. Edwards.

He is a World War II veteran, a past grand secretary of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana, a member of Tallulah No. 308 Grand Lodge of Louisiana, an avid gardener and hunter, secretary of the First Baptist Church fifth and sixth grade children for 60-plus years, retired independent plumber, and retired U.S. Postal Clerk.

He is survived by his children, Victoria “Vikki” Edwards, Ronald D. Edwards, Beverly E. Zeigler; grandchildren, Chad H. Zeigler and Staci Z. Williams; and great-granddaughter, Sydney Hazel Williams.

The family wishes to extend their special thanks to Bill Yerger, Gary Jones, T-Bird Murphy, Dick Brown, Wesley Whitaker, Lloyd “Shorty” Erwin, and the men at the “kitchen” for their many years of friendship.

Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah has charge of arrangements.
